The new arrangements address the main concerns which the Laser Class had with the radical concept discussed last November. Changes to the previous concept include classes will retain their world championship titles, more entries in the grand final for each class, retaining the name ISAF Sailing World Cup and having entry flexibility with wild cards.
You can see how the new Sailing World Cup will operate and how the circa 20 finalists will be selected on the ISAF web site here.

The participation raffle prizes include a free trade in on your old boat for a brand new Laser. Each race completed gains the participant a raffle ticket, the more races you complete, the greater your chances of being the holder of the winning ticket that will be drawn at the final event at Double Bay Sailing Club. Other prize draw prizes include; new spars, sails, tillers and ropes.

These should be great events at fabulous venues.
We are always on the lookout for good event venues so if your club is interested in running an event in future seasons let me know. Most clubs have adequate facilities to meet our needs for these events. We pay $2,000 for the two day regatta to offset the club’s running costs.
There is a list here of all the local, national and international Laser events that we are aware of for next season.
